KLPGA: Looking for the Next Namdalla

At the end of 2015, the then KLPGA number one, In Gee Chun, decided to further challenge her abilities, by taking up full status on the LPGA Tour. She finished her first season off by claiming the Rolex Rookie of the Year crown, in addition to winning the Evian Championship- the fifth and final  Major of 2016. Following in the footsteps of so many top Korean ladies on the currently playing on LPGA Tour, Chun proved that the transition from the KLPGA to LPGA can be pretty seamless.

Now the time has come for Sung Hyun Park to continue this successful process. Although her absence from the KLPGA Tour will initially be very apparent, there is an abundance of talented players here in Korea, that will ensure the level of competition and interest will continue to develop.

The success of KLPGA Tour and its players is something that the whole of Korea is extremely proud of. No one player is bigger than the tour and the 2017 season will prove this by emulating the successes of previous years. Jin-young Ko is the obvious choice to be the KLPGA’s star performer this year, but as stated previously, there is an endless amount of talent on this tour and we expect to see the emergence of even more quality players in 2017.
