Lee and Yang Preparing for a Rainy Joburg Open
Heavy rain is expected throughout the week, but Korea duo Soomin Lee and YE Yang are hoping this does not dampen their spirits.
After Soomin Lee picked up a T-29th at the Maybank Malaysian Championship, he mentioned that he was going to put a lot more focus and practice into his putting during the 2 week break. Having endured twelve missed cuts, and only a few reasonable results since his Shenzen International victory last year, he is still struggling to find this blistering form he was in a year ago, and has now dropped to 188th in the world rankings. Malaysia was promising for Lee, this week could very well emulate that result.
Ye Yang has only played one tournament so far in 2017. His T-27th at the PGA Tour Sony Open in Hawaii was a decent result, which he will hope to build on this week. The 2009 PGA Championship winner still remains the only Korea Major winner. This will be rectified in the near future, in our opinion, which is why it’s mentioned here…

It could be a long week ahead for the Korean duo. In saying that, Soomin won at the weather interrupted Shenzen International last year, so he shouldn’t be to bothered by rain delays…
