Noh T-43rd, Kang T-52nd, at the Honda Classic
It was an underwhelming week for the Koreans involved at the PGA Tour Honda Classic, which was comfortably won by Rickie Fowler. Siwoo Kim and Whee Kim bowed out at the halfway stage, while Seung Yul Noh and Sung Kang secured four days of play, although neither really threatened the top of the leaderboard.
It was a decent week once again for Seung Yul Noh, maintaining his consistent form of the past few weeks. Although the T-44th result is a step back from T-8th and T-11th in his previous two events, another four rounds under the belt will be pretty satisfying for Noh, who has jumped from 365th to 237th in the world rankings, since the beginning of January.
T-52nd for Sung Kang will not have him jumping for joy, especially after he secured a top 10 finish here last year. Kang will however be pleased with back to back cuts made for the first time in over 6 months, having picked up a T-22nd at last weeks Genesis Open.
It’s off to Mexico for the WGC next week, which means a week off for most of the PGA Tour members including Noh, Kang and Kim.
