Next Up, Nexen Masters For The KLPGA Tour
It’s off to the sunny South East this week, as the KLPGA Tour host the Nexen Masters, close to Gimhae. This is the second week running in which a title won by Sung Hyun Park in 2016, will find a new owner this year- but who?
Hae Rym Kim will return with a lot of confidence from a top 20 finish at last week’s LPGA Tour Lotte Championship. Kim has already won this year at the World Ladies Championship in China, so will be expected to be in contention again this week.
Jin Young Ko had a solid, if somewhat unspectacular opening tournament at 88cc last week. She will hope to emulate her T-12th finish, as she bids to take over the mantle as the top player on the KLPGA Tour this year.
Last week’s winner Min Ji Park looks to be the real deal. Holding her nerve in the final group alongside the experienced duo of Shi Hyun Ahn and Ha Na Jang was no easy task, and to come out on top in a three way playoff proves that this rookie is one to watch out for this year.
The unpredictability of the start to the KLPGA season could easily continue this week at Gaya CC. Who knows which player will come out on top? We all will know on Sunday evening…
