KLPGA: Ji Hyun Lee Takes E1 Charity Open Title
In a dramatic final day, Ji Hyun Lee came out victorious by one shot over her playing partner and overnight leader Jeongmin Cho. 21 year old Lee recorded a 2nd place finish two weeks ago at the NH Investment Ladies Championship, so this week is not a huge surprise.
She also recorded 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th finishes last year, but today’s maiden victory is undoubtedly the highlight of her career to date.
Cho handed the title to Lee at the last, as she hit two nervy uncharacteristic shots, which led to a disappointing bogey. Lee rolled in her par putt from close range to win by one, and claim her first KLPGA title in three years of trying.
Amateur invitee Hye Jin Choi produced the round of the day (66) to finish in T-2nd alongside Cho and Rye Jung Lee. Choi is continuing to impress no matter what tournament she is playing in.
The KLPGA heads to Jeju Island for the next two weeks. Nice weather for it for sure!
