IK Kim Claims 10th Korean LPGA Tour Win Of 2017
There has been twenty LPGA Tour events so far this year, with ten of them won by the dominant Korean ladies, including two of the three Majors that have been played out. The latest victory came from I.K. Kim at the Marathon Classic. This was her second LPGA title this year, after she won the ShopRite LPGA Classic last month.
Kim started the day two shots behind overnight leader Nelly Korda, but she took control of the tournament, with six birdies on her front nine of just 28 shots. Kim had opened up a four shot lead at the turn, over her nearest rival, Lexi Thompson.
Kim looked in complete control and well on her way to another LPGA title. This was further enhanced when a bogey from Thompson on the 12th, handed Kim a seemingly unassailable 5 shot lead over three players.
Kim cruised home for the final few holes, picking up two more birdies, signing for a flawless 63 and a four shot victory over Lexi. It was never in doubt after such a blistering start by Kim.

This was the first time Kim has won more than once in a season, since joining the LPGA Tour back in 2007. It was her sixth LPGA Tour win- there’s no reason why number seven won’t come very soon, but for now congrats again I.K. π
